Camp Ooch

An Evening of Summer Dreams

Camp Oochigeas is a free camp in Muskoka for children affected by childhood cancer. This camp couldn't exist without support from donors, with many of the funds raised at their bi-annual fundraising gala An Evening of Summer Dreams. The main goal of this year’s gala was to open a Camp in the City for kids who simply couldn't attend the one in Muskoka.

First, a Save the Date was sent out featuring glow-in-the dark inks – a hint at the stars of the gala. The invitation itself was presented in the form of a children's book, telling the story of three owls who leave the camp in Muskoka for the city. The online version had an animated and narrated version of the book. Design elements for the event included tickets, a program guide, posters and paper “flying owls” and thank you cards.

I was even invited to design and illustrate a canoe paddle that was sold at auction.
